The Story Behind the Brew

Let's start with a confession.

I never planned to work in coffee.

I'm Sara. Ecuadorian-Canadian. Economist. My plan was public policy, for life.

Then a course changed thing
s: "How to Tell Stories Through Coffee."

It was meant to be a hobby. Maybe a tiny café someday. Thirty years from now, at least, haha.

Instead, I got hooked on the industry.

I read. I studied. I chased anyone who'd talk coffee.

After nine years in Canada, I came to my second home. To Ecuador, where I've drunk coffee since I was eight.

Now I learn on the ground, from producers, baristas and roasters. Their wins. Their struggles.

Master's in Economics, University of British Columbia.

Sensory Skills and Brewing, Specialty Cofffee Association.

Same researcher. Different desk.

Seven years in research and statistics taught me one thing: everything is data.

So I connect the dots. Context, not just anecdotes.

Real numbers. Real stories.

The real people behind your cup.
